Drawing influences from bands to the likes Rage Against the Machine, Muse and Incubus, Ludavico’s sound has been described as driving, energetic rock with strong progressive rhythm and vocals. Having already supported and played alongside some of Queensland’s best alternative indie acts such as They are Spies, Dear April, Sunflower and Finabah at some of Brisbane’s most iconic venues including The Zoo and The Globe Theatre it is obvious that the band takes pride in providing audiences with an amazing performance night in, night out.

On the back of the production and release of their debut EP, Double Negative, the boys have already gained interest and a fan base interstate.

About to embark on their first tour, bass player Jimmy Harden had this to say, “We are all just excited to get this EP on the road and share it with as many people as possible. You may know from various sources that we are in the process of writing our first full length album after having released the EP Double Negative last year. While we plan to extend the reach of the EP in the coming year or two, we are hard at work in “the office” writing 12 tracks (yep, 12 exactly) for the album.

The goal of the album we are writing came about as a result of finishing a new song last year, which I wrote a blog about earlier on. We’re making some great progress on the music and the album is really starting to slowly flesh itself out and reveal its intentions. We are self-producing the album as much as we can until we complete the music and look for a producer/recorder and we plan to have a full album demo in due time (it’ll be top secret though!).

While we have yet to go into the studio to record, we have been producing full demos of our works in progress. We would like to share with you a one minute extract of a song we call Meaning of Meaning. I’ll say now that this song represents somewhat of a “middle ground” in terms of the variety of sound we have planned.

Fun weekend!

On Thursday, the good guys at Starving Kids Records were in need of a headlining act down at Jimboomba the following night due to a drummer injury, so we were glad to get the call and lend a hand on Friday. Went down a treat with the locals and had a lot of fun.

Saturday was our show at The Hive kicking off Burning Brooklyn’s “Where The Heart Stops” tour also with our mates from Midas Punch. It was Midas Punch’s first gig and I must say they did a fantastic set, and they’ll only get better! Check ‘em out at Myspace. Also, we have some photos of the event on our Pictures page.

As for the next few months, our next show is our first show at the X&Y Bar in The Valley Jan 7th which should be a bit of fun to kick off the new year.  We’ve got the drawing board up for our EP launch and secured a date so stay tuned for more details early 2010!
